1) Sin:
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;2) Not God’s Timing - God can answer Yes, No or Wait
3) God has something more to teach us - Often God has a different lesson for us to learn from unanswered prayer. . . or He may be wanting to teach us to persist in prayer. . . or He may want to reveal Himself to us in a new way.
4) Lack of faith -
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."5) God may have a better answer for you than what you asked for:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen6) Requests not God’s will
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of himThe primary way to know God’s will is through God’s Word!
